Obama courting CEOs on immigration widens conservative split, raises issue of corporate motives

A part of me is for immigration reform. I feel as though we should allow more highly qualified people into this country, and to make the process easier. We should understand that immigration is the life blood of a renewal that will have to come if we are to remain the light of the world. For instance, truth be told, I’m sure a lot of families hire immigrants for things such as yard work. And sometimes not everybody knows if they’re illegal or not. My issue with today’s bill passed in the Senate is that it does not talk about the second issue of immigration, which is the 11+ million illegal immigrants, that’s simply coming across the border, deserve to be given some legal status, and easy path to citizenship most likely not but at least a stay of deportation for a specific period and based upon behavior and employment records, sometime in the future be offered a path to citizenship. What must stop is the entry into this country of labor that is not documented and nearly impossible to deport.  If an employer hires an undocumented worker he has committed a felony and is subject to a fine and jail, but the undocumented applicant is only subject to civil penalties and deportation, after a court hearing. There is another problem that is unaddressed in the bill and that is the concept of soil producing citizenship, this is a Supreme Court decision on the meaning of the 14th amendment, the case was Wong Kim Ark in 1898 and has been called the worst decision ever rendered by the court, it needs to be changed.

Illegal immigration increasing

Recently, there has been a sign of illegal immigrant increase. About 11.7 million immigrants are living in the United States.

As lawmakers in Washington debate an immigration overhaul, that could help the illegal immigrants with their citizenship, the figures are regarded by many demographers as the most reliable estimates of the number of immigrants who might be eligible for those programs.

Will immigrants get any rights?

Immigrants seem as though they can't catch a break. Back in July,  a bill was passed, but their rights are still be divided. Even though the bill is suppose to provide a pathway to citizenship,  the criteria won't be met.
